Brief Job Description:
DBIS is a not-for-profit agency located in the Bronx and Yonkers, serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for implementing Individual Service Plans, overall familiarity with individual needs, and active advocacy for all individuals in the Residence.
Direct Support Professionals are expected to support each individual to establish functional independence in specific skill areas, implement their Residential Service Plan goals and objectives, and document their progress.
Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Experience:
1-2 years in the Human or Health services field is preferred but not required.
Preferred prior experience working in a residential group home setting.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with people.
Extraordinary analytical ability and organizational skills.
Flexibility, poise, tact, and the ability to develop rapport with individuals of various backgrounds and positions.
Days & Hours:
12 hours a day, Sunday - Saturday
Overnights Weekends

In addition, taking on residential programs has allowed us to serve those that need round-the-clock supervision.
