Overview:
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at New York City Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Medical Center & North Central Bronx seeks a Maternal Fetal Medicine Director to join the Division of MFM.
The Department spans across two campuses and has a robust Obstetric Service staffed by Attendings, Midwives, Physician Assistants, Ultrasound Technicians, and Genetic Counselors providing full scope Obstetric and Gynecologic care.
The MFM division provides outpatient and inpatient high-risk obstetric care, obstetric ultrasound and antenatal testing services within two AIUM-certified maternal-fetal evaluation units.
The Department has academic affiliations at both Albert Einstein College of Medicine and City University of New York.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities:
Coverage of the High-Risk Obstetrics Clinic
Supervision of Physician Assistants
Maternal-Fetal Evaluation unit
Interpretation of obstetric ultrasound
Prenatal diagnostic testing
Antenatal fetal testing
Supervision of two genetics counselors
Coverage of inpatient antepartum patients with supervision of physician assistants
Inpatient and outpatient consultative care of high-risk obstetric patients
Consult to the Generalist Obstetric and Midwifery Services
Liaise with specialists to improve care of mother and fetus
Call coverage
MFM phone consults from home
Labor and Delivery in-house call once a month
Medical student teaching
Clinical Quality Review and Administrative Responsibilities:
Participate in the New York State and New York City Maternal Hospital Quality Improvement efforts to recognize and reduce severe maternal morbidity and mortality
Promote and oversee development of standard work and adoption of practice guidelines that promote quality, cost-effective care.
Participate in clinical quality committee and other initiatives focused on improving the patient experience, patient safety clinical outcomes, enhancing systems to assure timeliness and efficiency and assuring quality while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Provide leadership and disseminate practice standards and accountabilities to non-physician Obstetrics & Gynecology staff, physicians, residents and medical students.
Participate in risk case reviews for NYSPORTS, formal RCAs and departmental QI and M&M conferences
Qualifications:
Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine
Eligible or licensed to practice in New York State

Annual Salary = $415,000
NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, located in the Bronx, accommodates more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually.
The two labor floor units support approximately 2,700 deliveries per year.
North Central Bronx is a community hospital with Level II nursery and transfers high risk patients to Jacobi, a tertiary care center with a Level III nursery.
The hospital is renowned for its Level I Trauma Center, a fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care.
