As part of our continuous growth and commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice Chair of Medicine to join our leadership team.
The Department of Medicine at Jacobi/NCB is comprised of 14 different divisions with over 250 Faculty Members including full-time, part-time, Voluntary, and Sessional physicians.
The Department of Medicine is affiliated and is a major teaching site for both the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the City University of New York College of Medicine.
Third- and fourth-year medical students from both medical colleges routinely rotate at Jacobi/NCB.
There are opportunities for on-campus teaching at both medical schools as well.
Responsibilities: The Vice Chair of Medicine/Director of Hospitalist Service will play a pivotal role in the Department of Medicine's leadership and overall success.
Working closely with the Chair of Medicine, this individual will contribute to provide strategic direction, administrative oversight, and clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-safety patient care, promote educational excellence, and support research initiatives within the department.

Clinical Leadership: - Collaborate with the Chair of Medicine to oversee clinical operations, ensuring efficient and effective patient care delivery across 14 different divisions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Lead efforts to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and clinical outcomes.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient care pathways.

Academic Excellence: - Support the development and implementation of educational programs for residents, fellows, and medical students.
- Foster an environment of continuous learning and professional growth for departmental staff with academic advancement - Facilitate research initiatives and encourage faculty engagement in scholarly activities.
3.
Administrative Oversight: - Assist in departmental budget management, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with departmental leadership to ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in recruitment, development, and retention of talented faculty and staff.
4.
Community Engagement: - Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, referring physicians, and other healthcare stakeholders.
- Promote outreach and community engagement initiatives to address the unique healthcare needs of our patient population.

Innovation and Quality Improvement: - Drive innovation in healthcare delivery and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Implement evidence-based practices and metrics to continually improve patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of New York.
Significant clinical experience and a track record of excellence in patient care, academic medicine and innovation.
Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic medical setting.
Strong commitment to education and scholarly activities.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
