*Director of Billing Opportunity*
*The Montefiore Wellness Center – Division of Substance Abuse provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment along with on-site medical and psychiatric healthcare for over 3,500 patients.
* We are seeking a Director of Billing to provide billing, administrative leadership, and direction for a complex system of multiple clinical services sites, grant, and research programs of the Substance Use Treatment Programs at Montefiore, including the Division of Substance Abuse, the Substance Abuse Treatment Programs, and the Montefiore Wakefield Recovery Centers.
Oversight includes all revenue-generating services across opioid treatment programs, chemical dependency, primary care services, and all other grant funded services within these programs.
This role will also coordinate all billing, auditing, and programmatic operations.
Duties and responsibilities Include: * Research and analyze the billing status and business initiatives of multiple addiction treatment programs at Montefiore.
* Identify federal, state, local and private trends in funding and reimbursement and develop procedures and policies to maximize revenue from billing rules and regulations.
* Will partner with Revenue Cycle team to maximize billing and collection efficiencies through the monitoring and analyzing of the accounts receivable, collection rates, reimbursement rates, etc.
Will also collaborate on and implement program financial plan, including: a.
Medicaid: assure growth of all revenue, assure enrollment, enforce program policy regarding sanctions and conduct audits of billing.
b.
Managed Care - Private Insurance: develop arrangements, negotiate rates and contracts, set up systems and conduct billing.
c.
Medicare: incorporate Medicare billing regulations in all covered programs.
* Conduct and oversee financial and program audits of: a.
All revenue-based operations b.
Purchasing, petty cash, patient fees c.
Cost reporting and billing systems for all programs (primary care, OTP, chemical dependency) * Devise, implement, and review current and planned programs, projects, policies and strategies to assure expansion of revenue based operations and to access grant funding wherever possible; assist program administrators in managing the revenue cycle of their respective areas of service.
* Direct the ongoing development of computer systems and network for communications, patient services, patient flow, data management, research, and evaluation; develop long-term plans for system maintenance and upgrades.
* Maintain ongoing contact with regulatory agency staff, contract managers, program reviewers, and senior staff at Office of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS) to identify revenue cycle needs, deficiencies, and methods related to the Montefiore Substance Use Treatment Programs.
* Provide oversight and management to financial and billing supervisors.
* Oversees scheduling (vacation, holidays) and ensures adequate coverage at all times; performs related personnel functions; ensures staff members understand their roles and responsibilities; assists in developing and maintaining objectives, policies and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the department/division; strives to streamline operations and effectively apply new concepts and techniques for positive outcomes; identifies and implements technology to improve operations.
* Assigns work and sees that it is carried out correctly and efficiently; identifies and implements technology to improve operations; acts as a liaison between attending physicians, clinical staff, patients, visitor's guests, and other staff; demonstrates ability to answer any questions that might arise when dealing with patients, physicians, or any matters regarding the department/division/physician office.
* Communicate with program leadership and staff regarding billing issues.
Track billing adjustments.
* Establishes and maintains a working relationship with the clinical staff with respect to their compliance and performance related to billing, coding and regulatory agency standards; ensures the continual efficient and compliant operational performance of the department/division; ensures compliance with all rules and regulations and makes certain these are properly and completely addressed in Policy and Procedure Manual.
*Qualifications and Skills* * Bachelor or Masters Degree in Business or Accounting.
* Seven years experience in Business or Accounting with at least 5 years of supervisory responsibilities.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Proficiency in healthcare billing software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
* Expert knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payor billing requirements and procedures.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
* Experience with or knowledge of OASAS billing is preferred.
*Salary and Benefits:* * Salary range is 150,000 to 170,000 depending on experience.
