com/p/41X4iqOljKCv6izKMr Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President, Risk Management, the Senior Regional Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the safety programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and the highest level of safety performance.
The Senior Regional Safety Manager will work closely with the management team, employees, and regulatory agencies to drive and foster a safety-first culture of safety excellence through effective communication, training, and the promotion of safe work behaviors.
Duties and Responsibilities: Safety Program Development Direct and conduct quarterly Management Safety meetings.
Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to our specific industry and operations.
Continuously assess safety performance metrics and develop strategies for improvement, providing recommendations to leadership.
Create and maintain a job safety analysis on processes and procedures.
Ensure (material) safety data sheet binders are updated.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, coordinating with relevant authorities and management.
Training And Education Oversee and facilitate safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring all personnel are well-informed about safety protocols.
Conduct new hire orientation including site-specific and task training according to OHSA regulations.
Review, update, and maintain employee training records in Safety Plus.
Coordinate with the managers to develop corrective actions, and coach, and train employees to meet or exceed company expectations.
Incident Investigation Lead and oversee the investigation of safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective action.
Responsible for timely incident reporting to OSHA.
Serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, including OSHA, representing the company during inspections and inquiries.
Partner with the Workers Compensation Manager to ensure that any claims pertaining to accidents at work are correctly processed and filed.
Safety Audits and Inspections Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Walk the facilities daily, look for hazardous situations, quiz employees on safety hazards, and verify employees are wearing proper PPE.
Identify and address issues that may pose a threat to employee safety or that are deemed hazardous and develop corrective and preventative measures to reduce or eliminate risks.
Review, maintain, and ensure Workplace Examinations and pre-operational Vehicle Inspection Reports are being completed accurately for each shift.
Ensure safety concerns and conditions are corrected accurately and timely.
People Management · Lead the Safety function and ensure the right positions and people are in place to ensure the current and future needs of the organization are satisfied.
· Manage all aspects of performance and develop a high-performing organization through coaching, creation of development plans, establishing goals and objectives, and providing stretch opportunities to high-performing talent.
· Partner with HR to develop a workforce plan and associated recruitment strategy.
Ensure compensation and incentive plans for Baldor’s safety team are competitive in the external marketplace.
Desired Qualifications: Technology Skills · Calendar and scheduling software – Microsoft Outlook · HRIS System- UKG Ready (Kronos) · Electronic mail software - Microsoft Exchange; Microsoft Outlook · Office suite software - Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Google Suite, Microsoft List, Microsoft Planner · Video conferencing software – Microsoft Teams, Zoom Experience · 5 + years in a safety leadership role in a warehousing/distribution, manufacturing, or transportation operation.
· Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is desirable.
· Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards.
· Certification in safety management (e.
g.
, CSP, CIH) is a plus.
· Proven experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
· Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
