Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Take patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and blood glucose monitoring
- Provide patient education on medication use, diet, and lifestyle modifications
- Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records
- Perform medical administrative support tasks, such as answering phone calls and managing patient referrals
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
