Job description
Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Manager.
As Maintenance Manager, you will oversee maintenance for the warehouse, ensuring that all work is completed according to the SQF guidelines.
The Maintenance Manager will provide leadership to hourly maintenance staf f to support initiatives, improve productivity to meet business needs, provides staf f with corporate goals through timely, professional, and safe practices.
Diagnosing and repairing problems such as electrical, plumbing, f looring, painting, waste management systems, etc.
Assigning and managing work orders, turns, requests for maintenance and repairs, preventive maintenance, recurring tasks, etc.
Overseeing work done by external vendors, including developing contract scopes of work, and qualifying vendors.
Manage state and local code compliance issues including annual SQF inspections, tests, certif ications, permits, documentation, violations, etc.
Supports corporate goals and maintains a safe work environment to ensure the lowest possible accident rate among their staf f .
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with ability to stand for long lengths of time; ability to lif t up to 25 to 30 pounds.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
Three years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience.
Three years’ experience in the maintenance trades (electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, etc.
)
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
Excellent verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Five years of relevant experience, including managerial experience.
