Start Date ASAP About Our School Vertex Partnership Academies seeks to develop virtuous high school graduates who have acquired the habits, knowledge and sense of personal agency necessary to lead self-determined, purposeful lives of American and global citizenship.
Our vision is to develop internationally-minded, tenacious learners guided by the four cardinal virtues of Courage, Justice, Temperance, and Wisdom.
The founding campus opened in the Bronx in 2022 with only 9th graders and is serving the 9th-10th graders in the 2023-24 school year.
Vertex will empower each student scholar to choose either: (1) the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program that prepares them to enroll and thrive in premier colleges and universities in the country or abroad; or (2) the International Baccalaureate Careers Program that prepares them to graduate with a professional credential and directly enter the labor market with skills in a variety of high-demand areas.
Vertex uses the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in grades 9 and 10 to prepare students for the Diploma and Career Programs in the 11th and 12th grade.
Culture of Continuous Improvement Calendar Professional Development for 3 weeks before meeting students Instruction for students for 1 week in August before the fall session begins Student-led family conferences three times a year (no instruction on these days) Professional Development and coaching Participate in school-wide and weekly Operations and Student Support team meetings to gain important skills and understand critical information.
Engage fully in team meetings to identify problems and create effective solutions.
Responsibilities Finance and Purchasing Manage the procurement, distribution, organization and inventory of school supplies.
Ensure invoices are tracked and submitted to the school’s accounts payable system Monitor usage of credit card and track receipts from purchases made Support as needed with annual financial audit process as needed (i.
e.
, manage financial documentation/filing process to ensure efficient year-end audit.
) Ensure adherence to network’s fiscal policies and procedures.
School Operations, Logistics, and Facilities Oversee and manage all aspects of the main office with a focus of service, organization, friendliness, and professionalism, ensuring reception and school entrance spaces are clean, welcoming, and informative and visitors and phone calls are handled promptly.
Oversee the upkeep of physical and digital student files and coordination of student enrollment Supports and supervises the School Aide and ensure this individual’s roles and responsibilities are executed with excellence Acts as the manager of daily core operational systems, ensuring processes and procedures are successfully executed: student arrival, student attendance, student transitions and student dismissal Prepare school for the opening school year, including but not limited to, ordering curriculum and classroom supplies.
Coordinate logistics of school meal service with School Food liaison including, but not limited to, scheduling, troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to compliance and safety expectations Manages all aspects of Free and Reduced lunch program/process Plan and coordinate logistics for school-wide events occasionally on nights or weekends Contract for other related services as needed.
Monitor student health records submissions and immunization compliance;collaborate with relevant stakeholders, such as the school’s DOH-assigned nurse.
Translate relevant documents into Spanish as needed.
Provide live interpretation for events and family meetings as needed.
Manage everyday facility requests,communicate needs to the facility team, and see request completed.
Assist in planning logistics and execution of school field trips, including planning all purchases and managing the event budget Establish and maintain a positive experience for all current and prospective families, including direct support of all phases of new scholar enrollment and ensuring that they are set up with all technology necessary to be successful Other school operations tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations and School Leaders Instructional Operations Prepare school for parent teacher conferences, including but not limited to, printing of report cards, progress reports, and supplemental materials as required by school leadership Support the preparation, execution, and processing of internal and state assessments Data reporting, including but not limited to, pulling and creating reports reports, such as attendance and instructional data reports Lead or co-lead the backwards planning for tasks and projects, including but not limited to, summer inventory, school year startup, scholar enrollment, assemblies, and end of year school closeout Proactively engage with scholars, families, and staff in the attendance process to ensure scholars are safe and maximizing their academic learning opportunities and in support of family-oriented truancy-prevention interventions Technology Oversee the maintenance and tracking of technology equipment Implement staff technology training as necessary Procure and set-up initial student information system Manages the support requests of the following key operational systems, and works to resolve issues ASAP, including but not limited to, technology, classroom and student platforms, and hardware/faciliities requests and concerns/issues Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent An intentional project manager who leads the charge on anticipating the need for designing, and reflecting upon systems in support of smooth school operations 3-5 years of administrative office experience, preferably in a school setting Experience with data management systems, such as: ATS, PowerSchool, Schoolmint, etc.
Exceptional computer skills, with fluency in Google Suite and Excel Strong organizational skills and thorough attention to detail Highly organized and works efficiently in a fast-paced work environment Spanish Speaker preferred A flexible attitude, commitment to lifelong learning, and a sense of humor Flexibility of approach and a collaborative style A commitment to viewpoint diversity, open inquiry, and experiential-based pedagogy Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and collaborative skills Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and external pressures Strong growth mindset, with a willingness to take personal responsibility, able to internalize and apply feedback with immediacy, dedication to effectiveness and excellence Physical Requirements: May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted, including assisting coworkers when required.

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000 which will be based on the candidate’s years of experience and credentials.
