The Superintendent’s position will be responsible to run the day-to-day operations and control short-term schedules.
Coordinate and supervise all field staff, subcontractors, materials, and activities necessary to successfully complete a project of varying complexity.
You will work with the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Engineer as a team to produce a quality product on time, within budget, complying with safety standards, and exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Adhere and support the organization’s safety, observing OSHA and all state-level agency regulations (MTA, SCA, etc.
)
Enforce orientation of job-specific training (scaffolding, aerial lift training, etc.
) on-site
Create and manage safety-related documents
Facilitate external/internal inspections
Host Toolbox talks and train new employees on safety standards
Identify potential safety risks and protect workers against possible hazards
Verify existing field conditions and report changes to affected parties
Establish and enforce acceptable levels of workmanship and good practices
Inspect materials for conformance against approved documents and specifications
Identify subcontractors NCRs, communicate across project stakeholders and ensure compliance
Identify and address punch-list items
Plan and direct construction activities of the subcontractors, laborers, and other staff as assigned
Monitor work progress to ensure adherence to construction schedule and budget
Identify, order and manage resources required to finish company self-performed activities
Assign daily tasks to field laborers
Maintain relationships with customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, superiors, and project team
Hire and layoff field labor
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for resolution
Initiate and communicate with project team RFIs, Submittals, and potential COs
Arrange on-site rigging, equipment, and material deliveries
Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in a critical path to ensure timely completion
Attend meetings with Construction Manager/client
Prepare daily reports
Collect and submit payroll documentation
Qualifications and Skills
2+ year(s) superintendent and/or foreman experience
5 years of construction-related experience.
Possession of SST62
Strong oral and written communication.
Excellent time management skills.
