Due to growth, we are seeking a highly motivated Estimator to be responsible for the preparation of full estimates on general contracting projects.
The qualified candidate should be flexible, able to multi-task in a fast paced team environment where deadlines are key.
The individual should also be an effective negotiator and communicator for buying out trades with subcontractors.
*SUMMARY OF POSITION: * Responsible for expediting and preparing full estimates on general contracting projects for larger and complex projects in a Supermarket or Commercial Retail setting.
*SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:* Expedites, analyzes and prepares bids for larger and more complex projects and manages the bidding process*.
* *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*: 1.
Reports to Chief Estimator to make sure we produce 100% Quality Bid and that all policies and procedures are being followed for each and every bid.

Handles all projects – GC & Inhouse- large, small & complex projects.
3.
Works closely with other Estimators, Asst Estimators, Project Coordinators and provides knowledge input for the project.
4.
Generates Takeoffs and quantity analysis for Inhouse & Subcontractor Trades 5.
Attends walkthroughs with Clients, Subcontractors & other Team Members.
6.
Reviews Subcontractor Prequalification and evaluates their strengths and weaknesses to ensure that we are using Quality Subs.
7.
Obtain properly qualified Subcontractor coverage for each trade.
8.
Analyzes all Bid Requirements to make sure all deadlines are met.
9.
Reviews and analyzes bid documents to determine scope of work for bid.
10.
Highlights drawings and executes required take-offs of pertinent trades.
11.
Generates a Clarification Sheet by determining each trade’s scope of work.
12.
Prepares RFI’s for any contradictions in the bid documents.
13.
Attends walkthroughs with Client and Subs to determine field conditions.
14.
Discusses scope of work with Subcontractors.
15.
Analyzes Subcontractor’s proposals and qualifies their scope of work.
16.
Prepares and finalizes bid to be checked by Chief Estimator.
17.
Finalizes Levelling Sheets from the Clarifications 18.
Holds buyout meetings with Construction to discuss bid upon award of job.
19.
Negotiates final contract price with Subcontractors as required and ensures that all Letters Of Award are fully executed prior to start of Work.
20.
Participates in Kickoff & Closeout Meetings and provides accurate reports, general conditions and man-hours.
21.
Develops and maintains Logs such as Bid Log, Database, Unit Costs, Equipment & Material.
*QUALIFICATIONS / BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:* A.
3-5+ years’ estimating experience in retail construction preferred B.
Architecture or Engineering Degree Preferred C.
Familiarity with open store renovations, new fit-out projects, and site work.
D.
Capable of working with tight deadlines.
E.
Excellent oral and written communications skills F.
Proficiency with computers: (Word, Excel; Outlook) G.
Must demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position: analytical; problem solving; planning/organizing; dependability.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.
